Methyl 2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxyl­ate

The title compound, C(11)H(8)O(4), features an almost planar mol-ecule (r.m.s. deviation = 0.033 Å for all non-H atoms). In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming two-dimensional networks lying parallel to (1-21).

1-(2-Eth­oxy-2-methyl-2H-chromen-3-yl)ethanone

The Csp(3) atom of the chromenyl fused-ring system in the title compound, C(14)H(16)O(3), deviates by 0.407 (2) Å from the plane of the other atoms (r.m.s. deviation = 0.041 Å). The eth-oxy substituent occupies a pseudo-axial position.

Methyl 3-(Quinolin-2-yl)indolizine-1-carboxylate

A novel compound, methyl 3-(quinolin-2-yl)indolizine-1-carboxylate (2) has been synthesized by cycloaddition reaction of 1-(quinolin-2-ylmethyl)pyridinium ylide (1) with methyl propiolate in presence of sodium hydride in THF. The structure of this compound was established by IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and MS data.
